Sharon

Growing up with parents who believed in knowing history and actively looking to see it, Sharon Van Nest visited many of the iconic historical sites throughout the East and West. Often seeking the extraordinary, such as meeting the still living Sgt. Alvin C. York in his home in Pall Mall, Tennessee about 1963. Walking the battlefield of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, left an indelible impression upon her. starting with her antique camera’s in the early 70’s shooting Black & White film while everyone had shifted to 35mm color film. The love of alternative photography and history had begun. With over two decades of living history in various eras as a precursor the ultimate advance into Battle Born Historical Photography was forthcoming.
